Hi, my name is Nate Tinbite and I’ve recently
been elected as your next SMOB! I have fought behind
the scenes for you for the past four years, and I plan to
continue working with the student body to make real
change as your SMOB. I go to John F. Kennedy High
School in Glenmont. Previously, I was a cadet in my
schools' NJROTC and I used to run Fall Cross Country.
I currently serve as President of the County-Wide SGA
and a founding member of MoCo for Change. Through
these positions, I've led a 5k+ student walkout to
the steps of the US Capitol to protest gun violence,
co-led a district-wide high school voter registration
drive, fought for English Language Learner (ESOL)
program funding and frank classroom discussions of
implicit bias, and so much more.
I got engaged in student advocacy in 7th grade when I witnessed the desperate need for change in my environment. Since then, I've made substantial progress in fighting for us!
Joined March for Our Lives activists at the Vote for Change rally.
Participated in the Gov. Hogan's Affirmative Consent Bill Signing.
Fought for the full funding of MCPS' budget before the council.
During the summer, I love to spend time with my family in Philadelphia and Dallas. We often play games, sports, and enjoy movie nights.
I'm running for SMOB because we are a defining moment in our county. We need to make sure that our education system is working for every student, regardless of their socioeconomic status. I'll be ready on day one to make these changes and will work tirelessly until the needs of the student body are addressed.
